What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that your browser saves on your device (computer, tablet or phone) when you visit a website. They let the site remember you and your choices, so the dates and pick-up location you select are not lost between booking steps and you are not asked for your language every time you visit.

Why we use cookies

Zuzu Rent A Car offers online car hire from our pick-up points in Trabzon and Istanbul. For a booking to go through smoothly, the site needs to link together the choices you make, from the search results right through to payment.

We may also use cookies to see where the site can be improved and, if you agree, to show you more relevant offers. We group our cookies into three categories:

• Essential cookies, needed for the site to work securely,
• Analytics cookies, which help us measure how the site is used,
• Marketing cookies, which help offers and adverts reach the right people.

Types of cookies we use

Marketing cookies

Marketing cookies help us show offers that match your interests and measure how well our adverts perform. For instance, if you looked at a particular car class on our site, you might later see a related offer on another platform, or we might measure whether an advert led to a booking. First-party and third-party cookies

First-party cookies are set directly by the domain you are visiting, in this case the Zuzu Rent A Car website. Your booking session, language choice and cookie preferences are mostly held in first-party cookies.

Third-party cookies are set by a different domain through a service embedded in our site. If analytics, map, video or advertising services are used, their providers may place their own cookies under their own privacy policies. We take care to ensure that non-essential third-party cookies only run once you have consented to the relevant category. At the payment stage, the licensed payment institution's secure payment page and 3D Secure verification may use cookies for their own technical needs; your card details are not stored on our site.

How long cookies are kept

Cookies fall into two groups depending on how long they last. Session cookies only remain valid while your browser is open and are deleted automatically when you close it.

Persistent cookies stay on your device until a set expiry date or until you delete them. Your language preference and cookie consent, for example, are kept in persistent cookies or your browser's local storage. The lifetime of each cookie depends on its purpose, and the principle is not to keep it longer than necessary.
